Dora Foundation is a NGO founded in 2002 whose head office is located in Geneva, Switzerland. It has been operating in Vietnam since 2007. Dora Foundation follows the mission of improving competancy and living standard for low-income families. Currently Dora Foundation is implementing projects of providing scholarships to poor students, grants for building pre-schools, grants for improving IT competancy and education.

Sao Mai is the center pioneering in providing consultancy and services of early detection, early intervention for children with intellectual disabilities and autism. After 23 years of operation, the center has made many achievements. Annually, about 60 children leave the center and attend the mainstream school after their successful intervention period. Derived from the fact that the number of autistic children is increasing, while many establishments are opened only to meet the demand but quality is not uniform, not standard from the State. Intervention centers for children with autism nowadays are concentrated in large cities, but very few in the provinces. Therefore, children in the provinces (especially children from poor families) are not or are not detected, intervened in time and effectively. On the occasion of remarking Vietnam Women’s day 20th October, HIWC solemnly held the ceremony of vision award of inspring women which is granted to Doctor Do Thuy Lan, Director of Morning Star Center. Mrs. Sarah Allen, HIWC president represents HIWC to grant this award to Doctor Lan with an aim to recognizing her talent, vision and constribution in the field of early internvention for children with autism.

Alongside individual intervention programs, early intervention programs in group settings is a strength of Morning Star Center in comparison of other local centers. Currently, there are 18 classrooms in Morning Star Center in which children are arranged according to their age group and types of disabilities.

Responding to the trust of parents in the quality of intervention of teachers in Morning Star Center, the Center always learn and learn knowledge of advanced and effective interventions in the world. education for children with intellectual disabilities, autism. Currently, the Center offers the following individualized therapies with a variety of interventions so that parents can make the most appropriate choice for their children according to the circumstances and conditions.

As usual, when the autumn comes, it’s time for all students of Morning Star Center to start a new school year. It’s also a chance for the centre to applaud the achievements of teachers and students made during the past school year and to implement the new plans for the upcoming school year. 

There are recently many institutions providing care, intervention services and assessment for children with autism and developmental disabilities. However, there are only very few centers that are as professional as Morning Star Center.
